Eris watched the girl in the mirror, smirked at her reddening cheeks and waited. A grin crossed her lips as she accepted and she moved to stand next to Nyssa, Eris placed a slender pale finger on Nyssa's chin trying to turn the girl's gaze up to the goddess "you have protection from my own men and beasts for as long as you are useful to me and don't worry, your vow to my brother's lover will go unhindered. just heed my warning she is fickle and if you do not please her she will turn ....unpleasant, don't let her beauty and sweet exterior fool you"
Eris moved to the open window "i will come to you if i have need of news"

Nyssa looked up as she was coerced and listened to the warning. She had wondered about Aphrodite's demeanor. Was it really true she could turn so quickly? She had no plans to find out first hand. Watching the goddess move to the window she still felt troubled and looked at her sincerely.
"And if I could not give you the information you wanted, then what?" She had to know just how high the stakes were. If it was potentially lethal or harmful she had to know.

Eris gave her a dark look, her smile gone as she turned her head back to answer the question "i suggest you do what you have to find out what i want to know, none who fail me live to see another day" she then gave her a smile as a dark smoke rose from her feet and whirled around her and unless stopped Eris would vanish, at least for now

Nyssa said nothing and would not stop her. She only turned back to the mirror. It was as she had suspected. She was a quick learner and she was starying to see how things were done in Crete. She only wondered if she could make it to her next birthday.

The God of madness and drink stood outside of the bath house a wide smile upon his face. As he had walked lazily here, his massive wine jug dragging the ground behind him he had hummed. Those mortals he had passed had either offered him grapes and wine or begun to tear at themselves or their loved ones in an almost animalistic fashion until he had passed by. Now he simply stood and inhaled deeply through his nose, he could sense a mortal near that was at their mental breaking point or very close to it.
Looking up the building he zeroed in on a single window and smiled as he walked up to the building and kept right on going up its side. Step by step he finally stood outside the window and paused. Of the voices he heard one was familiar the other not, grinning he stood there silently and listened. Body poised at a sharp 90 degree angle to the building. As words were exchanged he kept quiet and refused to make his presence known. Finally the Goddess removed herself and he was left able to peer into the window with a smile. He happily waited for the mortal to acknowledge his presence.

Nyssa had been sitting at her vanity with a leg pulled to her chest in thought. Her situation was a tricky one, and she had endured enough in her short time in Crete to cause anyone to be close to a breaking point. She sat with her eyes closed, trying to think if there was a workable way through her situation, as she was worried about displeasing the goddess who had just departed to the point of death to angering Ares to the point of death. A soft and upset moan escaped her as she felt a breeze come in and brush against her skin.
The chill of the air made her shudder a little, causing her to stand to go to the window to close it. When she opened her eyes to look, however, she was startled to see a face looking back at her and let out a short scream of surprise. Her first thoughts were someone had come to rob her or worse, but then she remembered she was not on the first floor.
"Who are you?" she asked, trying to wrap her mind around the idea that someone was looking in her second-story window. Seemed to her almost everyone in Crete was interested in her in one way or another. Whether it was a good or bad thing was debatable.

"Ah, Greetings first and foremost miss. Now to answer your question, I shall not beat around the bush as others may have. I am simply Dionysus, you may whimper now if it pleases you." The God of drink smiled widely, his manner rather off putting. Looking around the windows frame he blinked slowly and tilted his head. "May I come in? The difference in angles is a bit strange." He chuckled as his bright, warm eyes looked the woman over from head to foot and back again, as a vintner might take in a rare bottle of his craft. "Do make up your mind soon dear, I have a proposition for you and shant offer the kindness of requesting entrance a second time."

He had definitely taken her off-guard. Not everyday you see such a sight. I took her a couple second to gather her wits as she listened to him speak. After a moment, she nodded her head. At least he seemed cordial enough and yes, he probably was the one she has met so far to beat around the bush the least. She motioned him in invitingly.
"Oh, umm, yes... Please come in," she stumbled a little. The way she saw it, she was already potentially knee deep in trouble. There was no harm in hearing out what he had to say. "I am Nyssa," she offered for the sake of being polite.

He nodded and stepped into the room, his leading leg coming around and holding still as the rest of his body managed to pivot and enter in a single movement as the God defied any and all logic. Once both feet rested peacefully and he was oriented properly he flashed his pearly whites and attempted to take the girls hand to kiss the back of it. "A pleasure to make your acquaintance my dear Nyssa." Releasing her hand he would take a deep gulp from the large jug at his side before offering it to her.
"Now about that proposition I mentioned. You see, I'm not a fan of the woman that was here before me. I understand you owe her your life, and if I heard correctly you were also pressed rather forcefully by another certain 'God of War' to serve his wife. Her I like but He needs to relax. Regardless, I would like you to instead keep an open eye and ear and be one of my Maenads. I know what you're thinking!" He held up his hands to stop her from speaking. "You're thinking, oh! How could I betray those others that arrived here before you. Well It's quite simple. You see, I am the God of Wine, Madness, and Ecstasy. That means that by serving me you would be able to remain here and also serve the oh so lovely Goddess of love since we have coinciding interests. There was no wording that said you must serve her and her alone was there? See, much like the woman that was here moments ago I wish to keep an eye on the goings on of those others around me." His bright eyes gleamed mischievously as he waited for her to finally speak.

Nyssa did not fight the strange god when he went to kiss her hand. She was in fact flattered by the gesture. When he offered her the wine, she could not turn it down and took it gratefully. She needed something to help take the edge of of everything that had happened. After she lowered the jug, having taken a drink, she passed it back to him and heard out his proposition. She hesitated at first, fearful of making a further mess of things and maybe it had shown on her face as he assured her it shouldn't. When he finished, she thought about it for a moment or so. There wasn't anything explicitely saying she only had to serve Aphrodite. Maybe she could aid him.
"What does a maenad do?" she asked genuinely curious. "I am thinking perhaps this would be advantageous." Perhaps she needed to think outside the box on her situation anyway. The goddess that left before his entrance wanted a spy. Maybe retribution could come in then turning around and reporting to Dionysus who seemed to be friendly enough with Aphrodite.

((Due to the length of inactivity, I am closing this thread. Everything that has happened is still in play, and having spoken to Nyssa, she has agreed to play as a Maenad. If anyone wishes to continue any of this, they may do so in another thread. Sorry for any inconvenience.))
