kara and her sister Lucia seem to have found themselves in what looks like a temple of some sorts, finding herself gawking at all the art work and stone work she wonders what it takes to create a place like this.
looking toward Lucia she smiles "so sister dear wanna look around see what and who's about?" she asks cheerily with a mischeivious smile on her face, getting a nod from her sister she pulls her cloak about her again and off they go to explore and find out what this place really is.

kara was to busy gawking at an extradinary painting and bumped into a pedestal with a vase on it she squeals and attempts to lunge for it before it shatters but totally fails and misses by a mere inch or so she scrambles up and looks around frantically seeing her sister has wandered off she tries desprately to clean up as much of the mess she can since she doesnt she anyone else around but then hearing the sound of shouting and footsteps she looks around then looks up at the enormous pillar and shrugs before she starts to climb up to attempt to hide from the people as they run around trying to clean up the mess and replace the vase that was shattered.
looking down at every they seem so small and fragile from her vantage point as she clings tightly to the pillar, then her foot slips from its grip and she yelps to regain her grip and starts sliding down the pillar she groans and grips tighter before losing total control and falls back completely losing it she does her best to flip over she she can kinda land but ends up doing a summersault and lands with an ooof hard on her side knocking the breath from her lungs and all she can hear is the yelling from the patrons in the room running about before some come over to check if she is ok.
she slightly opens her eyes and see's a few women hovering over her asking if she is ok she tries and sits up but ends up getting dizzy and falls back as one of the women tip her head up to give her some water sipping from the bowl she inales sharply and cringes as she can feel a broken rib or two but no matter they will heal quickly but she closes her eyes and blacks out from the enormous pain in her head and the women gather a stretcher and place her on it carrying her to a secluded room and placing her on a soft bed to rest one of the maidens in the room sends a messenger to inform somebody that they have a guest that needs attention

Aphrodite had made her way to the temple and walked up its steps. Her feet fell silently on the marble as she ascended, her head held high with her nearly white hair piled on her head as a few tendrils draped over her shoulders. As she entered, she passed the altar where a few priests and priestesses had gathered to make an offering of some sort and were worshipping. Upon seeing the goddess, they bowed their heads reverently in acknowledgment. Aphrodite looked back, gave them a faint smile and continued on.
She entered a room where there were thrones lining the area. A throne for each of the gods to sit and convene or hear the plight of the mortals. Aphrodite went to hers, which was adorned with pink silk, gold ornamentation and swan feathers. Beside each throne there was a bowl. The mortals used them to make an offering in and pray for something. Aphrodite looked into hers and found a handful of beautiful pink pearls. She picked up a few and looked at them, and as she ran her thumb over them, she could see in her mind, the desires of a young man who wanted nothing more than to win the affection of a girl he knew. Aphrodite smiled a little, and admired the pearls. It was quite a lavish gift, and felt perhaps she could get her son Eros to aid her in this request, no problem.
She looked into the bowl again and saw some more things. Rose petals and incense, each from someone who had prayed to her. She picked up a rose petal and looked at it, before staring off into the distance in thought as she thought of the woman who had left it for her. Perhaps today was a good day to answer some prayers. She placed the petal back in the bowl and turned to leave the room.
As she was heading to another part of the temple, she passed a room where others were looking down at a girl. She entered the room and one of the attendants looked up to see her, and then backed away. Then two more did. Then the rest.
"What is this?" she asked as she motioned to the unconscious girl. One of the others told her of how they had found her, and Aphrodite stepped closer and held a hand a few inches from the girl's face, almost like she was looking to feel for her breath, and tried to will her into consciousness

Kara stirred a little feeling the magic from the goddess as she tries to will her in conciousness her eyes flutter open her long blonde lashes framing almost golden colored eyes, moving her eyes about she examines the area then her eyes fall upon the goddess and she gasps and tries to sit up groaning at the pain and remember the fall she took awhile ago.
she looks up at the goddess eyeing her carefully and thanking the gods that its bright enough in the room that she doesnt look like a glowworm, she looks down at herself then back up meekly "i didnt mean to break the vase it was an accident i was looking at a painting and wasnt paying attention to where i was going i really am truely sorry please dont hurt me" she babbles on and scoots back against the wall staying away from everyone

Aphrodite watched the girl, narrowing her eyes in some confusion as the girl babbled on about some vase. She herself did not own any vases within the temple. All of hers were either in the bath house or the brothel. She couldn't help but chuckle a little. Hera might be more upset about any broken vase within these walls. Maybe.
As the girl backed against the wall, Aphrodite cocked her head to the side a little and then motioned for everyone to back up. As they took a step or two back, she looked back at the girl.
"I know nothing of any broken vases," she spoke softly. "Nor do I care, really." Her turquoise eyes looked at the blond girl curiously. "Just who are you, anyway?" Aphrodite always saw a lot of potential in all the girls around town.

Kara watched as the people took a step or two back and calmed herself a bit by taking three deep breaths before looking back to the woman she cants her head slightly to the side then smiles "my name is Kara, i'm umm not from around here" she speaks softly wondering if the woman can tell she really aint human
she quickly looks around the room then gasps as she remembers her sister Lucia took off again, looking up she smiles meekly "seems my sister has run off on me again as well"

Aphrodite looked on with those turquoise eyes that were the same shade as the sea. She folded her arms casually, one hand reaching up to idly play with the pearls strung around her neck. As the girl introduces herself and makes mention of a missing sister, the goddess looks around for a moment, cocking one brow. Why would the sister run? Could they be causing trouble. She wasn't sure and looked back at Kara and studied her. She attempted to reach out with her senses and see if she could sense anything off. You never know what was lurking about.
"I see..." she said. "I am Aphrodite... Goddess of beauty, love and... other things." She spoke the last bit with a coy smile. "Just what brings you here Kara?"

Kara being curious by nature perked up at the mention of the pretty lady being a goddess the frowned as she was certainly not allowed to be around the gods anymore and she inches farther back away from Aphrodite
tilting her head to the side she peeks up to the goddess and asks softly "you dont happen to know a god by the name of Odin do you?" hoping the answer was no so she could relax feeling tense and scared she looks around then looks back to the goddess and blurts out "is it possible we could talk without all the umm servents or hand maidens or who ever they are around"
she looks around again hoping none of the women take offense to her lack of manner

Aphrodite looked at the girl as she seemed to come alive and then suddenly seemed to frown. As Kara seemed to inch away more, Aphrodite casually placed her hands on her hips and watched her curiously. It made her curious as to what would make anyone shrink from her. At the mention of Odin's name, she raised a brow. Hermes had told her in one of their "meetings" that some of the gods of the north had perished.
When Kara made her request to be alone with Aphrodite, she immediately raised a perfectly manicured finger to point at the door. "Out!" she commanded the others, and while one or two seemed either hesitant or curious, they all obeyed her and took their leave. Aphrodite then turned back to Kara.
"I have heard of Odin," she replied softly. "One of my companions has told me of his demise. A pity..."

Kara's eyes widen as she hears of Odins demise, shivering at the thought and how it occured she looked down at her hands before bursting into tears at the thought of what could have happened to the rest of her sisters turning her golden eyes toward the goddess she asks "how, do you know how it happened" she asks almost begging to know feeling she was hurting the goddess with the grip she had on her she sat back down murmuring "the reason i ask is because Odin was my father, i left Valhala to follow one of my sisters and bring her back but i did not relize once i had left i could never return unless i proved myself worthy to return"

Aphrodite watched Kara as she broke down into tears, only semi-puzzled at the sight. She looked into her eyes, seeing their golden tone, and she narrowed her own turquoise ones in suspicion. She slowly nodded her head as Kara asked her question.
"Yes," Aphrodite said. "I know how it happened. It was the mortals themselves that killed him, his own would-be followers." She shuddered very slightly at the thought. To think her own girls would turn their backs on her was an extremely uncomfortable thought to her. It was half the reason she spoiled them as she did. She may never utter the words that admitted it, but she knew the mortals could kill her if they forgot her. She looked back at Kara.
"The daughter of a God, you say?" she posed the question. "Then I guess that makes you hardly a mortal, now does it?" She watched the girl as she would respond, waiting to hear the answer. Depending on the answer given, Aphrodite decided she may or may not elaborate on the situation. After all, why give someone who could possibly kill you the weapon that would be your own demise?

Kara wiped the tears away as she listened to the goddess nodding ing understanding she murmurs "god riddence to bad rubbish" she shakes her head her mass of golden hair flying about her face, she scoots as close to the edge of the bed and puts her feet over as she simply tries to stand smiling at her success she giggles the groans at the sharp pain in her side. deciding it best to stretch and move around she walks to the nearest window area and peers out before turning her head back to the goddess of love.
smiling she looks back out the window before speaking clearly "i wouldnt exactly call me the daughter of a god i was born to human parents but i died when i was young chosen by the god Odin and his Mate to become a daughter a guardian of lost souls persay, reborn to the gods as Valkyrie" she turns back and walks back over to the goddess kneeling down she looks up and smiles exposing sharp pointy little teeth and pulls her hair back exposing almost elven looking ears then she gets back up and smiles "it is a good thing it is still light outside otherwise there is one more thing i could show you to prove i am not mortal" she sighs as she thinks back to her ancient human family her mother born of a demi god passed along her not so subtle glow onto her daughter "tis hard to say but with me around you really dont need any light" smiling at her own little joke she turns a nice shade of red as she blushes wondering if the quick witted goddess would catch on

Aphrodite took in all of Kara's words, listening to the no doubt abridged version of how she became to be a child, more or less, of the fallen god of the North. She couldn't quite read just how distressing the news had been for Kara to hear of Odin's demise but figured it must not have been too earth-shattering for her if she could still seem to be in good spirits.
Aphrodite went to a nearby vase that had a few flowers in it and took out a red rose, one of her favorites and held it to her nose, inhaling its delicate scent before placing the petals to her equally red lips in thought. She then elicited a soft say before speaking.
"The mortals in their persuit of progress, grew in their knowledge of... science and technology..." the two terms left a bitterness on her tongue. "As their knowledge grew, it neared obsession and devotion. Slowly, they began to lose their faith. As their faith in their gods dwindled, the lives of gods were lost. One of my... companions," she nearly purred the word, "is the messenger god of our pantheon. He spoke of the fate of some of the others throughout the world. In an effort to keep the faith in our people here, technology and science was halted here in Crete, and myself and the other gods walk freely amongst the mortals. The only one of us that seems saddened by this was my husband..." she frowned a little at the thought of Hephaestus. "As for your glow, I can see it faintly. I am sure in the dark it is quite radiant and lovely." Aphrodite smiled at her.

Kara nods as the goddess speaks, she herself knowing the technology is a waste since her in a way being a child of the gods tends to make things like radio's and televisions explode, guns and other modern things back fire so she sticks with her daggers, swords and crossbow.
she tilts her head curiously at the thought of the goddess of love being married figuring the gorgeous woman would have many men at her disposal she asks softly "why was your husband so dissapointed?"
blushing at the comment about her glow she smiles "i am the only valkyrie like this many of my other sisters have rare or extremely excellent talents" she frowns "i on the other hand am not so lucky if you hadnt noticed i'm a bit of a clutz"

Aphrodite sighed gently as she lingered on the thought of her husband, as though it were a chore that had to be done no matter how much she did not want to do it.
"My husband is the god of the forge, and does like things like technology," she said. "He favors tinkering with things, I guess. I don't really stick around him to learn much, but... even he knew that to be lost in some things is a dangerous thing, and if the humans lost themselves to it, we... face a serious problem." She frowned a little before shaking her head. She then looked back at Kara and smiled softly.
"Talents come in many forms," she replied. "Not all may be graceful, but I am sure there is something else you are good at. Remind me what it is exactly a valkyrie does. I am not too adept at things outside that which I am good at."
